Hi, I’m Julia

a Yin and Vinyasa Yoga teacher based in Berlin. Yoga to me means creating a connection to one-self and to a purpose in life and to develop the inner strength for creating change the world.

I think of myself as an explorer, an activist, and a caretaker.

I found yoga in my early twenties as a way to relief my back pain during uni, and stayed to become fitter and stronger for the physically demanding jobs I did on the side. I fell in love with the mental strength and focus it gave me, and the peaceful moments of silence, which were the only ones I had in my busy weeks.

I became a regular practitioner after a burnout diagnosis at 27. Since then I emerged from powerful asana focused styles to subtler ones. Today my teaching includes both, classes focused on mobility, poses and alignment, as well as energy based and spiritually saturated classes. All my classes are trauma sensitive and include sensory exploration, pranayama and teachings from TCM.

Working in childcare, in the service industry while getting my degree in cultural studies, co-founding a buisiness and later working as a personal assistant have influenced the way I facilitate and hold space. Having explored these other walks of life gives me a practical approach in a field that can lack approachability.

Every time I teach, I get to
step into my truth.

I find that creating a soft and safe spaces for my students means giving them to myself as well. Sharing the Yoga which has helped me tremendously in my life gives me direction and purpose.

I did my basic training with Spirit Yoga in 2018. In 2021 I became a certified Yin Yoga teacher with Valerie Hartwich and Liina Tael.
At the moment I am working towards becoming a yoga therapist and specialised in trauma informed Yoga.
